Summer Day Makeup.

Summer is fast approaching and we're surprisingly getting some sun in Scotland - I know, shock! haha. Now who want to have a face full of makeup when the sun is shining bright? Not me, hello a face as shiney as the sun. So I've decided to put together my fave statement products for wearing during the summer without going OTT. I'm going to split this post into 2 sections - Summer Day Makeup and Summer Night Makeup. This post will be based on day makeup.

Although this is a summer look foundation will still be a key product as I'm basing the look on going to a beer garden, or garden party with friends so it won't be as subtle as "just going out for the day" - if that was the case I'd have 0 amounts of makeup on my face.

Here's the looked I opted for when going out for drinks with my friends, very simple, and I'll tell you how I created it below;

For my foundation I opted for Illamasqua Light Liquid Foundation - "Light" being the key word here. As it was so sunny I didn't want to have a heavy coverage foundation on. This one gives the perfect coverage whilst still being light wear. I had a few spots so I popped on Collection concealer on as usual as I swear by this.

As I didn't have too much coverage I decided to pop on some bronzer, I used the Sleek contour kit and used the contour colour all over my face using a big powder brush, I only used a minimal amount and went back in with my brush and the same colour to contour the hollows of my cheeks.

I then used the Rose Gold blusher that comes within the kit on the apples of my cheeks and the highlight just along the top of my cheek.

For my eyes I didn't want to get too carried away so I kept it glam but very simple by only applying a set of individual lashes and a slick of Maybelline The Falsies mascara. For my eyebrows I stuck to a brow powder by Jane Iredale which I swear by.

Last but not least I used a nude Maybelline lipstick to keep things subtle. Although it didn't last too long as the cocktails kept washing it away haha!

The overall look stayed put all night long and I felt it was ideal for a summer day out with the girls! What do you all think?!

Manchester & McBusted - Days 2&3!

Saturday morning quickly came around I got up and went for breakfast myself as my friend was still in bed (there's a reason for the word friend being in italic which you will later find out). The plans for the day ahead was to go shopping at the Arndale then get a tram to The Old Trafford Stadium and then Old Trafford Shopping Centre, then back for dinner then out to experience Manchester night life - which I couldn't wait for - eeeek! But all was not to go to plan.

After breakfast we headed to the Arndale where I was in my element shopping, and also where I experienced Selfridges for the first time, so exciting. I bought MAC Rebel lipstick in there, and then later went back for Chanel Vitalumière Aqua foundation, can't resist a splurge.

On exiting Selfridges I took a sneaky sign picture as we had entered in from the arndale entrance.

Across the road we spotted the National Football Museum, I'm not much of a footie fan but I felt that because I had dragged my friend around the shops I'd go in there with him. Surprisingly I found it extremely enjoyable, I even left a sneaky note which you can view in picture form, below -

anyone who saw that from Manchester must have hated me lol.

Anyway, I enjoyed it that much that afterwards we jumped on a train to the Old Trafford Stadium, originally for a nosey and then we planned on going shopping.

Instead, we got there and ended up doing a full tour of Old Trafford Stadium and didn't manage to go shopping, sad Natalie.

Tour done. We headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner. Unsure of where to go we asked the staff at reception who suggested Rosso, Rio Ferdinands restaurant. So we took their word for it and headed there, fully booked we tried Room across the road, huge waiting list - so we then tried Brown across the road from there - one cocktail down and a look at the menu later we realised there was nothing on there that we'd enjoy so we sneaked out and headed wherever our feet decided to take us - rain and heels equalled a grumpy Natalie. Bella Italia soon came into sight so we headed into there and finally got some grub.

How cute is the menu for Bella Italia?!

Bill paid, we headed back to our hotel to get ready for the night ahead. Quick outfit change and then all hell broke loose, a minor disagreement between me and my friend turned into a full scale argument and I was left sitting in silence like a lemon. Night well an truly ruined. After asking my supposed best guy friend if he was going to come out to let me know by half 10, he decided he wasn't and that I could go myself. As if I was going to go out in a strange place myself, but it was rather nice of him to let me, not! A convo with my Mum on the phone (I went and sat at reception and was kidding that I was actually away out) and a river of tears later, I headed back to the hotel room after agreeing with my Mum I wouldn't go out on my own and convincing her she didn't have to travel the 3 hour car journey down to get me I went upstairs to bed. How fun my night out was eh?!

Next morning I got up and did my own thing, breakfast and shopping arriving 10 minutes before check out. A few words were exchanged between me and my now not so best friend and we checked out and headed for our train. Other than him asking me if I wanted head phones to use on the train journey home we spoke no more as I sat reading magazines and he sat listening to music. Most boring train journey ever, I couldn't wait to get home.

My Mum picked us up at the train station and shared her feelings towards my friend with him about how he treated me and I put in what I thought about him also, however he didn't seem to think he was in the wrong, so after a month we're still not talking and 8 years of friendship is down the drain.

Roll on the next weekend away were I'll maybe get round to experiencing a night out in wherever I may go.

Manchester & McBusted - Day 1!

At the start of May I had the delight of visiting Manchester for the first time. Nervous beyond words as anyone who knows me will know I can barely make my way around Glasgow myself nevermind somewhere I've never been before. I had my friend with me on my journey also, he being none the wiser of where anywhere was - although having been in Manchester before. We booked the hotel and train the week before going - note to self* don't do this again, it's pricey. On the subject of being clueless we actually booked a hotel at £99 thinking it was for the 2 nights Friday to Sunday, when in actual fact it was for each night so were automatically £99 more than planned down haha!

Anyway we set off first thing on Friday morning (our concert was that night) from Glasgow Central and arrived 2 hours or so before check in, we jumped in a taxi and informed the taxi driver we where looking to go to the Thistle hotel, before him informing us that all we had to do was walk to the corner of the street and take a left, so that's what we done and abruptly arrived at our destination. - Beautiful.

We headed to reception were we ended up leaving our cases before heading for a quick look aroud until our room was ready. After a short period we headed back after having a browse in a few shops, got checked in and made use of the hotel facilities - hello, pool, jacuzzi and sauna. We then went back to the room and started to get ready for dinner, we opted for Nandos, yummy.

My dinner outfit;
Top - George Asda
Leggings - Primark
Shoes - George Asda, kids section.

After our scrumscious dinner, we headed back to the hotel for a quick change o outfit before heading to see the boys.

Concert outfit;
I had on the same leggings & shoes.
Top - Primark
Ear Cuff - Urban Outfitters.

Change of clothes done and we set off to the venue. Out hotel was very central to everything and the Phones4u arena being on of the things. After a short 5 minutes we hopped out the taxi - and headed in to see the delightful McBusted boys. The venue as a whole was great, atmosphere splendid but the seating arrangement was quite rubbish, we had seats up the back, which I didn't mind I've had seats at the back of concerts before and they've been fine but the phones4u arena is quite long in length so I felt very away from the action, until they came on to the "B" stage, the stage close to the back.

The boys on the "B" stage.

It was then I felt I had done a full 360 in life as Busted and McFly were the first 2 bands I had ever saw live, and I've saw many since, and it was then that it hit home... I'm getting old haha.

Concert over with we headed back to the hotel and hit the hay. We were busy bees on the Saturday.
